| The armoured cruiser "Bayan" was under construction in France under the order of Russian government. Among the ships - participants of the Russian-Japanese war - "Bayan" was considered as the best representative of a class of armoured cruisers of Russian fleet. She appeared the ancestor of the biggest series of the ships of this class in pre-revolutionary fleet. From first days the Port Arthur defense "Bayan" participated in fighting campaigns, in reflection of attacks of the Japanese cruisers and torpedo boats, in squadron battles. Only from September, 27 till October, 18 in a cruiser has got six 280-mm of shells and ten shells of average calibre. But damages were corrected, the ship was supported in a fighting condition. Shortly before falling Port Arthur, on November, 25, 1904 Japanese have begun execution of a cruiser. Having received ten hits of shells of heavy obsidional Japanese artillery, "Bayan" has sunk on November, 26 in the east pool of Port Arthur of harbour. She has been lifted by Japanese later; it is named "ásÏ" and was part of the Japanese fleet. In 1920 she has been reconstructed in a minelayer. From lists of the Japanese fleet has been excluded in 1930, and in 2 years has been sunk. From features of the given model it is possible to note quite good choise of details, an opportunity of assembly of the case in two variants: the full hull and the hull on a waterline. Propeller screws are printed by a bronze paint. |
