The instruction in English
The "Askold" is one of those splendid ships, which were carrying the St. Andrey's flag with dignity. The "Askold" used to have the reputation of a "lucky" ship. The high-qualified training of the crew saved the ship in difficult moments. The most impressing events in the history of its service were its operations as a part of the Port-Arthur squadron. The hour of triumph for the "Askold" was the battle on 28 July 1904 (all the dates until 1 February are given in accordance with the old style), when, in the moment, extreme for the Russian squadron, being showered with dozens of shells, the splendid cruiser was moving on its full speed towards the enemy ships, and those were parting and opening the way to it into the high sea. At the beginning of World War I, when the main forces of the Russian fleet appeared to be closed in the Baltic and Black Seas, only the "Askold" was active and successful while operating with its associates in the Pacific and the Indian Oceans and in the Mediterranean Sea. The thousands of miles left behind the stern, the search of German raiders, the convoy of transports with troops, the blockade and bombardment of the enemy shore, the ships captured and sunk. The excellent shooting of the cruiser during the Dardanelles operation in 1915 was not only once noticed by the English-French command. The mines, torpedoes of submarines, bombs of airplanes and shells overblew the "Askold", but at the same time the pathway of the ship was complicated and tragic. The graves of the "Askold" soldiers are scattered all over the world: in England and France, Greece and Egypt, at Ceylon, in China and Japan, in Murmansk and Vladivostok. Some of the seamen of the cruiser, buried in accordance with naval tradition, sleep at the bottom of the ocean. The model of this cruiser is executed in white colour as of 1902. The level of detail drawing is quite presentable. The model contains the pages with the double-sided seal.
